11-15-05 Seattle vs. Tri-City
The Thunderbirds did themselves in tonight losing to an inferior Americans team, 5-2. All game long, the Thunderbirds looked lost and confused. Which was especially suprising after how well they looked on Saturday down in Portland. Well, now that I think about it, they really didn't look too good on Saturday, either. Gavin McHale looked great on Saturday. The rest of the team looked okay at best.
The star of the game was Tri-City forward Juraj Gracik. He rolled up four goals on the night. Not a bad little game. The goat of the contest was Seattle's Chris Durand. He took FIVE minor penalties in the game. He even took some time to complain to the ref. Here's some advice to Mr. Durand; if you don't like it when the ref keeps calling penalties on you, then stop hooking, holding, tripping and high-sticking the other teams players right in front of the referee. If you follow this simple advice, I promise that the refs won't call any penalties on you. And if I'm wrong, I promise you DOUBLE your money back!
James McEwan tried to fight Aaron Boogaard of the Americans. Once again, he didn't do too well. I commented to Kelly that Boogaard was landing so many right hands that McEwan was begging him for a left (lol).
As for this weekend, I may or may not get up to Everett on Friday for their game against Kamloops. Friday night is just the WORST in getting through Seattle and into Everett. But that'll be a decision I make after work on Friday. Then on Saturday, it's yet another meeting between those old friends, the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Portland Winterhawks. This time it's up in Seattle. On Sunday, it'll be down to Portland to watch the Winterhawks play the Regina Pats.
Now, if I go strictly by my schedule (which includes a Husky game in Mountlake Terrace on Thursday and that game in Everett on Friday), I'll have games to go to on 10 consecutive nights! And possibly 11 if I decide to get to the Thunderbirds game after the Seahawks game on Sunday the 27. So I'll be Mr. Busy here over the next little while.
